Language Requirements:


for MA mobility: Russian (intermediate level)

for PhD and Staff: proficiency in English or Russian is required. In any case, we don't require a language certificate.



Remarks on the DOCUMENTS REQUIRED for the application:

  • the CV must be written in English or Russian;
  • for MA nobilities the Learning Agreement containing planned course units at the University of Kyrgyz Economic University. To create the Learning Agreement, please check the Academic offer and study programs/courses at KEU. The Learning Agreement may be modified after arrival and discussion with the academic coordinator;
  • for PhD and Staff mobility an English or Russian version of the research/teaching/training proposal must be submitted;
  • Acceptance Letter is not required. Recommendation letter for Exchange Doctorate is recommended, but not mandatory.
  • Official Grade Transcript and Certificate of Enrollment (English or Russian);
  • We do not require legalised translation of diplomas or transcripts during the application and selection stage.

Academic Requirements:


  • for Exchange Master (6 months): Bachelor degree.

Note: MA students study at evening time: 17:00-20:00

  • for Exchange Doctorate (6 months): Master Degree
  •  for Teaching Staff: proved experience in the Study Field you apply for. Letter of support from the corresponding Department of Host Institution is recommended. A work plan proposal is required. Working language can only be English or Russian. It is expected that Staff mobility will be active on discussion of bilateral agreements between two home and host institutions which will allow to further cooperation. Staff mobility is admitted at any time during the academic year, except vacation periods.



Services at KEU:

  • Keu offers free access to the library and resource center;
  •   Committee on Youth (students’ club) organises variety of events, concerts, excursions etc.;
  • KEU Canteen;
  •  Free Russian language courses for the period of 1 month.

Information before and after arrival:

  • Invitation letter: All beneficiaries will receive an information letter as soon the selection process is over. They will be informed about the details of their stay and the further procedure to be followed. The International Relations Office will issue an Invitation letter for the visa application, and contact the Kyrgyz embassies and consulates involved.
  • Accommodation: KEU offers accommodation of residence to exchange students coming from our partner institutions.

Arrival Information: Before their arrival, all beneficiaries will be provided with detailed information about the transfer from the airport to Bishkek and about the practical procedures to be followed at the beginning of their stay.

KEU will appoint a tutor for each incoming mobility who will meet him or her at the airport and accompany within 2 weeks.


Residence permit:

NON-CA citizens coming from a country that has a visa-regime with the Republic Kyrgyzstan need to apply for a visa via the Kyrgyz embassy or consulate in their home country before departing for Kyrgyzstan.
The list of countries whose nationals need a visa to enter Kyrgyzstan can be found at the pages of the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyz Republic. You will receive an acceptance letter from Kyrgyz Economic University that covers some of the documentation needed for your visa application.

In order to regulate the residence permit students need to submit the following documents:
• acceptance letter from the Kyrgyz Economic University stating the study purpose of your stay – in Russian (you will get it at the orientation meeting from the International Relations Office upon your arrival),
• photo in colour (3,5x4,5mm),
• copy of the passport / ID card,
• proof of secured accommodation – statement from the student hall of residence in Bishkek (to be received upon moving in) or in case of private accommodation rental contract and proof of ownership.
